Lauren was called to the Bar in 2017 and joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2020.
Lauren has a busy practice spanning across a variety of Chambers’ core practice areas, with a particular emphasis on personal injury and clinical negligence. She appears in court on a daily basis representing clients in fast-track trials, application hearings (spanning all three tracks), disposal hearings and CCMCs.
She also has a busy paperwork practice drafting pleadings and providing advice on liability, quantum and tactics to both claimants and defendants.
Personal injury makes up a significant portion of Lauren’s practice. She appears in court in fast track trials, Stage 3 disposals and interim application hearings, acting for both claimants and defendants. She is able to advise and settle pleadings in matters involving road traffic accidents, occupiers’ liability, the Highways Act 1980 and employers’ liability, including cases involving fundamental dishonesty.
Lauren is developing her practice in this area. She has advised, drafted pleadings and conducted conferences with medical experts in a variety of clinical negligence cases. Interesting examples include matters involving the negligent performance of an abortion, the late diagnosis and treatment of a kidney infection in a pregnant woman and the negligent failure to suppress a disease outbreak in hospital. During her pupillage in Chambers, Lauren additionally gained insight into cases involving the late diagnosis of cancer and failure to obtain informed consent. She is well placed to provide written advice on liability, quantum and Part 36 offers and is happy to accept instructions on behalf of both claimants and defendants.
Lauren is regularly instructed in credit hire matters acting for both claimants and defendants. She is well versed in all of the relevant arguments relating to need, enforceability, impecuniosity, period, rate and intervention.
Lauren is frequently instructed in cases involving allegations of fundamental dishonesty. She is happy to accept instructions for both claimants and defendants where issues of fundamental dishonesty and/or fraud arise, both in RTA claims and all other types of personal injury claims.
In addition to acting at trial, Lauren is well-placed to provide early advice on the prospects of success in such cases either in conference or in writing and to draft pleadings.
Lauren is a member of the Attorney General’s Junior-Junior scheme.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys cooking, camping, paddle-boarding and yoga. She also has an Advanced Open Water qualification in scuba diving and hopes that in years to come she will gain the experience and qualifications necessary to fulfil her ambition of diving beneath ice.
