Huw Davies successfully represented the charity, Voluntary Services Overseas, in a preliminary hearing on the issue of jurisdiction.
A former employee, working abroad in Bangladesh, had brought various claims in the London South Employment Tribunal. Following a two-day hearing, despite the employee being an English national and his contract being governed by English law, the Tribunal held that it had no jurisdiction to hear the claims brought against VSO.
