Farrar’s Building announces the passing of Ian Murphy KC

Farrar’s Building is saddened by the sudden death of former member Ian Murphy KC, who passed away on Friday, 10th. March 2023.

Ian was called to the Bar in 1972, and took silk in 1992. He sat as a Recorder for many years, and was a leading figure on the Wales and Chester Circuit.

He was widely regarded as one of the finest advocates of his generation, and was equally at home in both the criminal and civil courts.

Ian was a valued and respected friend and colleague to all at Farrar’s Building. He will be greatly missed.
