Farrar’s Building is saddened to learn of the death of Michael Lewer KC CBE.
Michael was born on the 1 March 1933, attending Tonbridge School and Oriel College, Oxford. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1958 and took silk in 1983, being made a Bencher of Gray’s Inn in 1992.
Michael sat as a Recorder and Deputy High Court Judge, as a Parliamentary Boundary Commissioner, and as a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.
He was very popular member of Chambers for many years who enjoyed a stellar career at the Bar, receiving a CBE for services to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel, and was known as a tireless champion of community causes.
